I'm sure that everyone knows that Arby's turnovers are vegan. But I found out something yesterday. It isn't on the menu, but it's in their register: you can order a veggie sandwich. I ordered it. However, I messed up. I had the choice of the sesame seed bun or the sub roll. I got the bun - I later found out it contains milk). The sub roll does not contain milk or eggs, but there is an ingredient (L-Cysteine) that could be animal derived (it is common to come from either plant or animal and only a trace amount is needed in making bread).
So, basically, if you want something vegan, your best bet is to get the veggie sandwich with a sub roll. They charged me a base price of $1.35 and .20 cents per vegetable (I got lettuce, tomato, banana peppers and pickles). It's good to know if you get stuck at Arby's like I did, you can eat something besides a turnover.

That's great! I don't eat fast food often, but one of the closest places to me is Arby's. I remember when I used to eat a LOT of fast food in my teens and I would go to burger joints and ask for a burger without the meat. I got looked at like I was crazy :).
My how times have changed. I have ordered all sorts of crazy stuff (subtract this, add that, etc) and I must say that I haven't got any weird looks or questions from the workers. Even the girls at Arby's were professional. One had to ask the other how to ring it up and the other just showed her fairly casually.
This is a good thing because I'm more at ease ordering if I don't feel any negative vibes. If I do, I don't go back to the place. Maybe they snicker behind my back, but who knows?
